The Burlington Winter Festival is accepting applications for the 2012 Vermont Snow Sculpting Competition. The winning team will represent Vermont at the national competition in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in 2013.
Competition sculpting starts Feb. 2, with judging Feb. 4 during the Burlington Winter Festival. The deadline for applications is Jan. 10; competitors must also submit their sketches by this date. For more information, contact Nancy Bove at (802) 864-0123 or NBove@ci.burlington.vt.us.
Presented by NorthCountry Federal Credit Union, the 2012 festival includes fun activities downtown and at the Waterfront for all ages, including the Vermont Snow Sculpting Competition, the Church Street Light Walk and Street Party, kids activities, live performances, special merchant promotions, and more!
There will also be a Family Activity Expo at the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center. Other exciting activities include the Special Olympics Vermont Penguin Plunge at the waterfront and Kids VT Camp and School Fair at the Hilton and Courtyard Mariott’s Ice Bar.
Dating back to 1993, the festival attracts thousands of people who come to participate in Burlington’s revelry of snow and ice.
